Once he arrives, Isaac discovers that the ship has been overrun by a deadly alien species known as Necromorphs, and must fight his way through the ship in order to survive and uncover the truth behind the outbreak.
The player takes on the role of engineer Isaac Clarke, who is sent to investigate a distress signal from a mining spaceship called the USG Ishimura.
